Grzechotki I After my adventure near Braniewo on Friday afternoon and night, I crossed the border legally to Russia. I booked a hotel in Novoselovo just a few kilometers over the border near Grzechotki. The border guards who I told I would try to spot the borderpoles from the Russian side advised me not to try that. "When they catch you, they will put you in jail and you are defently not on the plain home on Monday" they told me. "There is a no-go zone in Russia of about 1 kilometer to the border". I think they were right and decided not to try it. Just spend the night in Novoselovo and then in the early morning go back to Poland again. At night it took me more than two hours to cross the border and in the early Saturday morning it took one hour.

	Missing poles 2386 In the early Saturday morning I passed the border by car. I hoped to spot the poles 2386 which should be very close to the road between the two border stations. It was easy to recognize the border by the yellow line, but no border poles here! Althugh you can see a slight angle on the middle of the lawn between the road and the fence. I made this picture through the window of the car, I don't think it would be permitted to stop here and leave the car for some pictures.
	Borderpoles 2389 After crossing the border I drove to Grzechotki. It was still early. A small road brought me in 15 mintues to the borderpoles 2389. It was 7:15 in the morning.
	A view to 2388 I considered to walk to 2388, but that is rather close to the bordercrossing Grzechotki / Mamonovo II, which is well guarded. I didn't want to start this beautiful day with again trouble. So I didn't take the risk and went back to 2388.

	The strip and the sandpit Again the barren area. On the Russian side there is some reed. Who will ever be there if it's a not accessable zone? Dark clowds, but I kept it dry! From here, I went back to the car and parked it near 2392.
	Borderpoles 2391 There was a camera near the border. I avoided it by making a detour over the fields on my way to this 2391 pair. A well plowed sanpdpit here! After taking some pictures I walked back by the same detour to 2392.
	Bordercrossing road at 2392 An old thoroughfare, which is now stopped by the border. Four warning signs and a bareer prevent you from passing the border. And incase you neglect them, there is a camera that will detect you. It's in the tree on the left.

	Borderpoles 2392 A few meters from the road on the left I found the 2392 pair. I couldn't take a picture from the road-side, I had to avoid entering the 15 meter zone.
	Borderpoles 2393 I walked some hunderd meters over the wet and clayey fields to 2393.
	Borderpoles 2394 Again 10 minutes by foot to the next pair of borderpoles. The fields on the Polish side end here.
	View to the west A view to the west: the fields end here and make place for some wood. There is a little valley for the small river Omaza that crosses the border. On the picture you see the 2394-poles and (far away) the 2395 and even 2396-poles. I had to approach these poles from the other side of the water. Next page >>
