During our tours from 2004-2007, we found some poles are missing. We did not make a fuss about that then. Now, years later, it turns out that many of the disappeared poles still exist but not on their spot. We, but also others, have made a bit of a sport of tracking down these poles.
Notice that most displaced poles are in Luxembourg and not in Belgium.
In September 2022, we even organised a special trip in larger company to visit these posts without a border.

Border marker 3 Should be in a railway yard on the railway line between Athus and Rodange. The pole probably had to clear the field when the railway yard near ArcelorMittal was expanded. Border marker 4 This too comes from the same railway yard at ArcelorMittal. After a long stay at the Capellen municipal yard, this pole can now be seen in the park in front of the museum Draï Eechelen in Luxembourg city. A somewhat strange place for this border marker. Border marker 6 Was on the spot where ArcelorMittal placed this yellow lifting crane between the large factory halls. We have never been on site, but an ArcelorMittal employee checked the place on special request. Unfortunately, no more border markers. No idea where this pole is nowadays. Border marker 7 Same story here. Must have been near 6 but will have had to clear the field with the construction of the factory grounds. Photo border without post: February 2006

Border marker 10 There is still an iron marking with 'B10' on an ArcelorMittal staff car park that indicates the bend in the boundary, but the original boundary post 10 is not standing there any longer. I haven't found out what happened to it yet. Photo border without post: September 2022 |

Border marker 12 This pole has disappeared during the development of a business park near Rodange. Like most of the poles that were removed this one is on the municipal yard of the municipality of Capellen (LU) in the middle of the other borderless poles. In total there are now 7 borderless poles. The photo below shows the place where the pole originally stood: on an elevated piece of land at 'Saica Flex Luxembourg' on a business park near Rodange.

Border marker 13 This pole has disappeared during the development of the aforementioned business park near Rodange. This pole is also still standing on the municipal yard of the municipality of Capellen (LU) waiting for better times. In the photo, Rob and Geert are playing with boundary marker 12. In the underlying photo the place where the pole originally stood: the parking lot of a garage company "Carrosserie Carducci D" near Rodange.

Border marker 17 The last one that had to clear the field during the development of the business park. For a change this one is no longer in Capllen but in the City Museum in Luxembourg city. That is a large museum so it takes some searching.
