Medininkai

On my way from the old border crossing at Medininkai to the new border crossing along the A3.
I follow the path along the Lithuanian fence, observed by many cameras. No one intervenes yet!

The same pattern as I saw before: a Lithuanian pile, a small marker of the real border and after that, the Belarusian pile.
Go with the mouse over the picture to see the details of the Belarusian weapon.

Again more new cameras.
To make all these pictures, I had to lift my own camera over the fence. My lense is too big to stick it through the netting.

Again the same protocol: one border marker, two piles, three cameras.

Picture taken from the path along the fence. It makes clear that there is a huge fence!
III-1 20140407 The fence
This fence was built with EU-money to avoid smuggling and illegal entry of the European Union. The fence is rather new, I think it was built some years ago. Lithuania entered the EU however in 2004 yet.

Some hundreds of meters further I found the 1074-pair.
There is one advantage of this border: you don't need a detailed map to find it!
III-1 20140407 Camera out of the fence
The path gets narrower. I see a camera placed out of the fence.
I was here now for almost an hour and I had expeced a border guard would show up to inform what I am doing so close to the gate. If some one has to watch the monitors connected to those cameras they surely would have noticed me. But no one there. Only me.
