Bordermarkers 311 - 321
The last part along the river Tisza. The railway line is trapped between the hills and the river. Most of the border markers are close to the railway line. The area between BM211 and BM216 is not reachable by car. So we drove to Valea Vişeului, took the morning train that stopped in Lunca la Tisza (which is not more than a board in the meadow) and walked back along the tracks. During our hike we didn't see any train. However two border guards found and checked us. After some friendly conversation we could continue our way.
We didn't see a chance to visit the opposite site of the river where the Ukrainian border markers are situated close to the road. Many of them are visible via Google Street View.

Map 311-321
Between the narrow vllay and Valea Viseului along the river Tisza. Detail on this map: the end of the narrow track and the village Valea Vişeului where the river Viseu flows into the Tisza. Notice that on the new map the railway connection between Valea Vişeului and the border is missing. Scince January 2023 it's in use again.

The first one on the narrow part.
All the Romanian markers along the tracks have been covered with the new (plastic) shell.

RO-UA Border marker RO 312
Located on one of the few small hills between the river and the tracks. Notice the polyurethane foam between the old marker and the new shell.

RO-UA Border marker UA 312
We had a view on the Ukrainian copy which is situated along a road.
This one is visible on Google Street View as well, but without the bared wire. Google streetview

RO-UA Border marker RO 313
On the small strip between the tracks and the descend to the river.
Also here the Ukrainian copy can be seen on Google Street View:

Border marker RO 314
Most likely too little space between the tracks and the descend. So they placed this marker on the other side.
THe Ukrainian copy is again on Google streetview

RO-UA Border marker RO 315
Here again a small meadow between the river and the rail tracks. On the background the Tisza and the Ukrainian copy along the road.

RO-UA Border marker UA 315
I could spot the Ukrainian copy from the Romanian side, but again this one is also on Google streetview

RO-UA Border marker RO 316
Almost at the end of the hike. The last one in the hill.

Border marker RO 317
The small river Viseu is here flowing into the Tisza.
We are almost in Valea Viseului now.

RO-UA Border marker RO 318
The railway leaves the border and runs through the valley (valea) to the station of Valea Viseului.
At BM 318 once there was a bridge.

RO-UA Border marker UA 318
I took a picture from the Romanian side, but it was not tat clear.
Again Google streetview gives a good impression. It looks like this border marker is easly accessable.

RO-UA Border marker RO 319
Again along the tracks, but now along the track to Ukraine. Only broad gauge here. The border section is opened again after 15 years on Ukraine's request. Actually for freight trains, but they don't run here. Scince January 2023 only few passenger trains a day between Rakhiv and Valea Viseului cross the border -if they run. Like usual in railway business there are ambitious plans to extend services.

Border marker RO 320/321
The border finally leaves the river, which results in a combined Romanian marker. On Ukrainian side there is one marker at the opposite site of the Tisza (320) and another on this side of the river, just over the small bridge through which runs the border.

RO-UA Border marker RO 320/321
Detail of the combined marker. On the opposite side of the river the Ukrainian copy of 320.
Google streetview offers a view from the Ukrainian bank here.

RO-UA Border marker RO 320/321
The rail border crossing. The fence is closed.
So the border leaves the river here and runs via a creek into the mountains.
