Lithuania - Russia III

From the PL-RU-LT tripoint to Vištytis was a 20 minutes' drive. My navi suggested a detour via Wiżajny (PL) to Gražiškiai (LT) but there is a new road direct from Wiżajny (PL) to Vištytis which leads along the lake. My navi was lost, but I found the way easily. Still a beautiful area!
Jan Krogh was here several times and I recognized tha places he visited. Strange that the mainroad ands with a fence.

III-1 20140407 Old police station
Along the main road in Vištytis, close to the border. It's not in use anymore.
III-1 20140407 New border guard station
Close to the old police station there is a new built border guard station.
III-1 20140407 Border guard speed boat
At the opposite of the road there is the lake. At at small dock I saw this border guard speed boat.
III-1 20140407 Border buoy
The last border buoy (23) is close to the edge of the lake. Left of it is Lithuania, at the right Russia.
III-1 20140407 Russian side
A closer look at the Russian side of the lake. Here is some recreation: I heard children playing in the water. Jan Krogh found out that there are some tourist houses at the Russian side.
Notice the fence on the right. This is not the Russian border fence, but a sencond fence. I think this is fence between the public area and the military / border control area.
III-1 20140407 Dead ending road
The road ends with the fence. It's not a typical border fence, it looks like a palisade between two neighboring houses. On the other side you see some houses. According to the map, this is a military zone. You can also see the second fence from here.
III-1 20140407 Welcome!
When you come from the fence, you will see that you are in Vištytis in 'Lietuvos Respublika'.
Would this be a remainder from the ear before the fence?
III-1 20140407 Back to the lake
The palisade ends close to the water. According the map the border follows the shore for some meters and then disappears into the lake. That would mean I'm very close to the border. I guess that's true, here I saw warning and stopping signs (not on the picture).
When you look sharp, you can recognize the second fence in the background.
III-1 20140407 \Inspection road
The dead ending road is not the end of the road. You can turn left here to the the border inspection road. It is very close to the border! I assume it's not allowed to go there, but strange enough there is no sign forbidding it! Later I asked some border guards why there is no sign indicating the 'border protection zone' but they couldn't give a real answer.
III-1 20140407 Borderpoles 3.1
Two brand new border markers. The Lithuanian copy has a provisional number, 3-1. On the Russian copy I couldn't discover anything from a distance.
III-1 20140407 Borderpoles 3.1
Same poles from a bit more distance. From here I followed the border to the north for about 1 kilometer.
